Global Entrepreneurship Summer School 2013
What happened until now:
Since 2008 our Summer School was known as EIISS (Entrepreneurial Impact International Summer School), in the 5th year of existence we rebranded it to Global Entrepreneurship Summer School. The topic of the Global Entrepreneurship Summer School in 2013 was “Rethinking Education – Challenges of the Future”.
Education is a fundamental human right
… and essential for the exercise of all other human rights. It promotes individual freedom and empowerment and yields important development benefits.
While in 3rd world countries yet millions of children and adults remain deprived of educational opportunities, many as a result of poverty – western countries have to face the challenge of implementing new technologies into education.
Both worlds have to discover the power of different educational tools to provide access to education, to improve education and its professionals.
How can people all over the world lift themselves out of poverty and participate fully as citizens? How can social media as well as modern technology change the education approach of the future?
The Global Entrepreneurship Summer School is part of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD). The goals of the Decade are to provide opportunities for refining and promoting the vision of and transition to sustainable development through all forms of education. The Global Entrepreneurship Summer School fosters the important role of education in sustainable development and connects ambitious, entrepreneurial students from all over the world.
