Exciting Announcement for Researchers and Pracademics! Call for conceptual and empirical research papers for: Special Issue: "The New Social Contract for HEIs: Exploring their Role in European Innovation Ecosystems" We are thrilled to announce a collaboration with the Triple Helix Journal for a Special Issue that focuses on the evolving role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in European innovation ecosystems. Please get in touch with Dr. Sebastian Planck (sebastian.planck@sce.de).

Universities have transformed into key drivers of social, economic, and technological development, playing a crucial role in fostering innovation and progress. This Special Issue aims to delve into the multifaceted dimensions of HEIs' new role in driving innovation and shaping the future. From investigating university-industry collaborations to exploring the societal impact of academic research and education, we aim to provide valuable insights into the transformative power of universities.

We invite both conceptual and empirical research papers that contribute to advancing knowledge about how the new social contract for HEIs can be operationalized and how universities can effectively engage with their regional innovation ecosystems.

Topics of interest for submissions include (but are not limited to) the shift from education to sustainable innovation, defining innovation ecosystems from the perspective of HEIs, pathways to HEI transformation, the role of academia in supporting the exploration of new technologies, measuring the social and environmental impact of HEIs, and more.
