SFF MOONSHOT SUMMIT Munich 2023 - Review & Impressions

At the SFF Moonshot Summit 2023 on November 30th and December 01st decision-makers from science, business, politics and start-ups from European innovation ecosystems came together. As part of the innovative "Moonshot" format, the participants from the Start for Future Innovation Network (SFF) worked on developing impactful solutions to forward-looking issues in the fields of mobility, energy, healthcare, manufacturing and regenerative economy. Around 300 guests from a total of 25 universities, 12 incubators from various international ecosystems and 30 companies took part in the two-day Moonshots.

Strascheg Award 2023: These are the winners!

On November 30, the winners of the Strascheg Award 2023 were honored at the SFF Moonshot Summit . Many thanks to all participants for the exciting submissions, the inspiring pitches during the award ceremony and congratulations to the winners of the evening! The 12 international/national winners from 4 categories can look forward to prize money totaling €35,000. As a special feature this year, international start-ups from the Start for Future Alliance were also honored in addition to the ideas of students, alumni and employees from Munich University of Applied Sciences. We would also like to thank the Renate and Falk Strascheg Foundation and this year's jury for their support and commitment, which was no easy task given the large number of promising ideas: Bernhard Eichiner (IHK für München und Oberbayern), Dr. Frank Feller (Weickmann & Weickmann Patent- und Rechtsanwälte PartmbB), Teresa Geß (NEDGEX GmbH), Svenja Lassen (Gateway Ventures), Christina Ramgraber (sira Kinderbetreuung), Sophia Schmidt (pola UG), Stefan Schneider (TQ-Systems GmbH), Nicolas Schwaab (Pionierkraft GmbH) and Alice Steinhausen (Zeidler-Forschungs-Stiftung).

Launch of the new "EXIST-Women" funding line at the SCE

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is expanding its start-up funding for female entrepreneurs and founders from the scientific community. To this end, the established EXIST funding program is being expanded to include the new "EXIST-Women" funding line. Munich University of Applied Sciences (HM) and its entrepreneurship center Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) committed themselves early on to the topic of entrepreneurship for future-oriented education. This commitment has made HM and SCE the leading entrepreneurial university in Germany. However, as the proportion of women who want to become entrepreneurs is still low, the SCE has created the "SCE Women" program under the new funding line, which aims to help increase the number of female founders through events, mentoring and networking activities.

The nominees for the Strascheg Award 2023 have been announced!

Many thanks to all participants for submitting their business ideas for the Strascheg Award 2023! At the SFF Moonshot Summit 2023 on November 30, the participants of the idea competition will be celebrated and 12 international/national winners will be chosen. They can look forward to a combined prize money of €35,000! As a special feature this year, the start-ups from the Start for Future Cooperative, Europe's dynamic and fast-growing innovation alliance that brings together universities, start-ups, industry and public institutions, will be honored alongside the ideas from Munich University of Applied Sciences.

Virtual collaboration: Publication of the new anthology "Teaching and Learning in Virtual Space"

The new anthology "Teaching and Learning in Virtual Space", edited by Sibylle Matern and HM Vice President for Teaching Klaus Kreulich (ed.), offers insights into current research and innovative approaches to the use of virtual reality in education. The authors from Munich University of Applied Sciences examine how the learning behavior of individuals and groups changes when using immersive media, what skills the actors need and what opportunities virtual technologies offer in the university context and in the world of work. Lecturers from the SCE Entrepreneurship Center at HM are also represented with contributions from the authors Audrey Stolze, Bettina Maisch and Andres Rueda. more information
