The German Startup Monitor (DSM) is the largest and most important study of the startup ecosystem in Germany. Every year, the Startup Association, together with partners from the ecosystem, collects data, assessments, and experiences from founders across the country. The results not only provide a current snapshot of the German startup landscape but also serve as an important basis for policy decisions, public debates, and the further development of the framework conditions for innovative companies.
Every perspective counts
To ensure that the German Startup Monitor 2026 can paint as meaningful a picture as possible of Germany as a startup hub, broad participation is crucial. We are seeking startups from all federal states, industries, and stages of development.

As part of the startup ecosystem, the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) supports the initiative and calls on founders to get actively involved. The more startups that participate, the stronger the community’s collective voice will be in politics, business, and the public sphere.
