"Rethinking Participation Dialogue Forum - Together on the path to a climate-neutral city" on 05.12.2024

Go back

HM:UniverCity, the Munich Re Foundation and the Strascheg Center cordially invite you to the SCE Creative Hall on 5.12.2024 for the annual "Rethinking Participation Dialogue Forum - Together on the way to a climate-neutral city". Climate change is also becoming increasingly noticeable in Germany due to heat, drought and flooding. As a result, there is growing pressure on society to move faster and more decisively towards climate neutrality . Local authorities have effective levers at their disposal to curb climate change. The city of Munich has set itself the goal of being climate-neutral by 2035.

This goal must now be followed by action and realistic measures. Society needs to agree on the necessary steps and participation needs to be rethought. Because the climate-neutral municipality must win over majorities. Climate protection can only be successful with active citizens, energetic local politicians and committed businesses.

  • How do we create new social alliances in order to realize a climate-friendly living environment for all Munich residents?
  • What forms of participation are conceivable?
  • How can civil society get involved, what social changes are necessary?
  • What must or can the City of Munich initiate, what contribution can the economy make?

Two participation projects from the Horizon Europe project"Creating NEBourhoods Together", a lighthouse project for the New European Bauhaus, will be briefly presented as input to the discussion. Cordial invitation - we look forward to your input and ideas!
