Every year, theFood Start Up Campus invites Germany's most exciting new companies from the food and beverage sector. They try to convince the expert jury as well as the audience of their products through a tasting and a pitch. The winners can look forward to highly coveted prizes. Out of the thematically very diverse food start-ups, one in particular stood out with its unique taste: our Start-up League team djoon with their date chocolates. The young Munich-based company was able to convince most of the 80 jurors with their innovative praline and won both the audience and the investor award.

"Our goal is to make people happy with chocolates by combining taste with well-being and sustainability. First and foremost, we want to convince with unbeatable taste and, quasi incidentally, be good for the world. There is no nicer confirmation of this mission than winning such a coveted tasting." Leon Niederl, co-founder of djoon foods GmbH.

"It was really worthwhile to compete at the Food Start Up Campus. It was a very good experience, we got to meet a lot of interesting people and showcase our date chocolates. Besides the audience award, we were also able to win the investor award. This means a coaching with Square One Foods, one of the most important Food VC's in the German speaking area. Square One Foods will be able to help us a lot with scaling production, among other things." Martin Grellner, co-founder of djoon foods GmbH.

"We are already developing new products for the upcoming Christmas season. That's when it's especially helpful to make contacts in the scene and get feedback and coaching from experienced experts. At this point, thanks again to everyone who voted for us, to the organization of the event and to all the other great startups who participated." Carolin Grellner, co-founder of djoon foods GmbH.
