Founders of Tomorrow as Guests at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship

Go back

On Friday, April 8, 2022, the KinderUni at Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship came to an end for the winter semester 2021/22.

We are pleased that - despite Corona - we were able to offer many children the opportunity to "study".

The winter semester ended with the seminar "How to become an entrepreneur" held at the SCE. Here the children, between 7-12 years, could get a taste of our start-up world and convinced our experienced coaches with their curious questions and ideas on the given problem "Children do not eat their lunch", as well as the final marshmallow challenge. Each child received an "Entrepreneur Hero:in" certificate for successfully completing the challenge.

We were also able to offer our thoroughly environmentally conscious audience a great drinking straw alternative thanks to Drink Innovation Campus (DICA) Alumni Christian Zippel. Thank you for sponsoring the crisp straws.

Many thanks to the great initiative KinderUni München to all staff members and lecturers who imparted their knowledge on exciting topics in a child-friendly way: Dr. Bettina Maisch, Jana Hollmann, Martin Laarmann, Caroline Gingter, Jérôme Hamacher, Amanda Shala and many more!

What is the KinderUni?

In Munich, there are various (technical) colleges and two large universities. Every winter and summer semester, the KinderUni is hosted by one or more of these universities and colleges, where it organizes free lectures and events especially for children between the ages of 7 and 12 - parents are not allowed in the KinderUni lectures!

The KinderUni started in 2004 at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, in the course of time the KinderUni students could also visit the Technical University with all its locations, the University of Applied Sciences Munich, the University of Philosophy and in the art semesters the University of Music and Theatre, the Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the University of Television and Film.

The universities and colleges always select new professors who then tell the KinderUni students in the lectures what they research and know particularly well about. The lectures take place in the Audimax or other lecture halls of the universities - where the adult students usually sit and study. By the way, there is a KinderUni not only in Munich! Lectures for children are offered throughout Bavaria.

If you would like more information about the KinderUni, you are very welcome to request the documentation "15 Years KinderUni", which was published in 2018, from kinderuni@kulturundspielraum.de. It looks back at the idea and development of the KinderUni Munich since its start in 2004 with reports on the experiences of those involved.
