Holidu(www.holidu.de) compares more than 700,000 vacation rentals from providers such as HomeAway, Housetrip and Tripadvisor. Launched in May 2014, Holidu is already one of the largest vacation rental search sites worldwide. With a high 6-digit seed financing, growth is now being further boosted. Since AirBnB, Housetrip and HomeAway at the latest, vacation rentals have been all the rage. Holidu makes it possible to find vacation home offers from hundreds of portals in a single search, bringing transparency to a market worth over 100 billion euros. Many vacationers find vacation homes more personal, more affordable and more beautiful than hotels. They meet the nerve of the time. "But the search is too time-consuming," say the two founders Johannes and Michael Siebers. For a surfing vacation in Portugal, we spent over 10 hours looking for a house by the sea with Internet. On average, users surf more than five portals to find a vacation home. We did a survey and were shocked at how time-consuming many users find the search for vacation rentals," said Johannes and Michael Siebers. To do better, the two brothers began developing Holidu in early 2014. Already, Holidu is one of the largest search engines for vacation rentals in the world, with more than 700,000 vacation rentals from well-known providers such as Tripadvisor, Housetrip and HomeAway. By the end of 2014, the offer is to increase to over 1 million offers and numerous other portals are to be connected. The aim is to make every vacation home in the world findable on Holidu. The focus is not exclusively on the variety of offers, but also on the search experience. "Images are much better suited than text to quickly capture large amounts of data. Searching should be fun," say the founders. So far, Holidu's marketing activities are still focused on German-speaking countries. Early investments from internationally experienced entrepreneurs and investors are to be used to realize growth in international markets in a timely manner and to expand growth at all levels.
