With this annual competition, the city calls for forward-looking projects to be developed together with the administration and tested in a real urban test field. The aim is to implement innovative approaches for the city of tomorrow in a co-creation process.
The 2026 challenges at a glance:
- TreeQuest: Schoolgirls on an urban data mission
- Making hidden wastewater disposal services visible
- Beneath the surface: deciphering hidden information about Munich's sewer network
- Providing data and knowledge quickly, in a structured and targeted manner with AI
- ÖKOPROFIT 2.0: AI-supported environmental consulting for Munich's businesses
What awaits the participants:
- 10,000 euros innovation prize for the best solutions
- Up to 15,000 euros support in the co-creation phase for contributions in kind
- Access to a strong network of city administration, start-up support and experts, including the cooperation partners UnternehmerTUM, LMU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center, Universität der Bundeswehr München, Start2 Group and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship.
The best projects will be honored in July and then further developed together with the city.
