This competition opens the city administration to innovations and offers the opportunity to test and implement new approaches in a real test field. We are looking for innovative solution proposals and concepts for given questions of the Munich city administration.
The ideas with the greatest potential for implementation and realization are awarded the Innovation Prize. The winners will also be given the opportunity to implement their submitted concept in collaboration with the city administration, to develop it further and to test it in practice.
In this process, five scientific cooperation partners support and accompany the award winners:
- the UnternehmerTUM
- the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship
- the LMU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center IEC
- the start-up center Founders@Unibw and
- German Entrepreneurship
For each question, the participants with the best solution concepts will be invited to present their idea to the jury. All finalists will receive recognition in the amount of 500 EUR.
The jury selects the most promising solution approach. This will be awarded the Innovation Prize. After completion of the implementation phase, the winners will receive additional prize money of EUR 1,500.
Who should apply?
Founders, start-ups or students who are working on innovative solutions are addressed. All those who want to test their ideas in practice and who would like to benefit from support within the framework of an entrepreneurship program are invited to apply.
Application deadline and procedure
The innovation competition consists of a competition phase and an implementation phase.
The competition phase starts with the announcement of the new questions and the following submission of the solution concepts. A selection of finalists, will then be invited to a presentation in front of the jury. At the award ceremony on the same evening, the winners for each topic will be awarded.
Applications can be made in German or English. The presentation to the jury should be in German and German will also be the working language during the implementation phase.
Implementation phase: In the fall, the co-creation phase begins in the test field, accompanied by one of the entrepreneurship programs of the four scientific partners. During this time, the implementation and testing of the winning concepts takes place.
The round ends after three to six months with a final event of the respective entrepreneurship program. Here, the winning projects present their results from the test field and have the opportunity to network with investors, corporates and other players from the startup community.
