Eligibility Requirements
Interested companies must be based in Munich. They must demonstrate an innovative, digital, sustainable, social, or regionally relevant business idea. Each company may apply only once; an existing customer relationship with Stadtsparkasse München is not required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Spin-offs, acquisitions, or companies with existing products are excluded.

“Start-up” Category (Audience Award)
The “Start-up” category is aimed at companies founded between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025. Ideal candidates are characterized by a successful market entry and a solid business plan. A jury will select five finalists from all applications before the public can vote online for their favorite.
“Rising Star” Category (Awarded by an Expert Jury)
The “Rising Star” category considers companies founded between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2022, that have approximately 15 employees (full-time equivalents) and a minimum annual revenue of around one million euros. The winner in this category will be determined by a jury of experts on September 16, 2026, as part of a pitch.
The winners will receive:
- Recognition at an awards ceremony in late October 2026 at WERK1 in the Werksviertel district near Munich’s Ostbahnhof
- Exposure across various media channels of Stadtsparkasse München, including social media, a TV segment on regional television, and an episode of Stadtsparkasse München’s startup podcast
- Two half-day coaching sessions, each with a consultant from the startup scene
