Imagine: The healthcare system of the future is barrier-free, efficient, high-performance, crisis-proof, inclusive, rehabilitative, digitally networked, needs-based and easily accessible to all. Medical care is increasingly preventive, personalized, precise, participatory and participation-oriented.
At least, that's the vision for improving health for all, as described in the German government's Strategy for the Future of Research and Innovation. But how do we get there? Only through close links between research, development and application. The strategy for the future shows transformation paths, identifies needs for action and prioritizes corresponding activities.
On which topics is the focus at the moment?
- Better understanding and treating widespread and age-related diseases
- Leveraging the potential of digitization for healthcare research and healthcare and nursing care
- Strengthening innovative power
- Improving prevention on the basis of a one-health approach
- Germany's international responsibility
- Exploiting innovation potential in biotechnology
