Munich TechDays 2026 - Follow-up Report

Go back

Our impressions from the Munich TechDays 2026: Artificial intelligence, digital security, and autonomy are the hot topics of the moment. Europe has an opportunity here to promote local projects through education, investment, and reducing red tape in order to reduce its dependence on tech giants from the U.S. or China.

During a panel discussion on "Sovereign Intelligence," our CEO, Prof. Dr. Klaus Sailer, emphasized:

"I'm not afraid that we're falling behind in technology, but I am a bit afraid that we're so focused on how we're falling behind other countries that we're failing to find our own path to how AI can help our society."

And Tobias Gotthardt from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development, and Energy announced:

“We want to be the place where success is possible, where innovation thrives, and where innovative people find their home and a sense of belonging.”

Another major topic that emerged was how important human input, oversight, and accountability will be for the future of AI. In line with this, SCE employees Philipp von Törne and Lars Schepp identified in their interactive workshop that trust—not data—will be the “currency of the future.”

We would like to thank Bayern Innovativ GmbH and the Security Network Munich—especially Kai Michael Hermsen and Peter Moehring—for the fantastic organization, and we’re already looking forward to the Munich TechDays 2027!
