Partnership between start-up enna and o2 Telefónica

Older people often find it difficult to use smartphones and tablets. That's why SCE alumni start-up enna developed a user-friendly docking station for tablets that makes it easy for seniors to navigate the digital world and stay in touch with their loved ones, thanks to large buttons and a card reading system. Now, o2 Telefónica has also recognized this potential and entered into a partnership with enna.

Commercially available Android or IOS tablets can be connected to the enna Dock via USB and also benefit from the dock's integrated speaker. But what really makes it unique are the individualized cards that are simply placed on the dock and thus automatically perform various actions such as video calls or opening apps and digital photo albums.

o2 Telefónica was convinced by this idea, so they announced their partnership with enna on 01.06.2023, which means that the product is now also available for purchase in the o2 Store.

Markus von Böhlen, Director in the Consumer Division of o2 Telefónica, comments:

It is part of our philosophy to provide everyone with secure and self-determined access to digitization. We want to make everyday life easier for people who have not been able to use digital services up to now. With enna, we have a solution for bringing the previously excluded into digital life. This is what we understand by responsible democratization of the Internet.

Mortiz Kutschera, one of the three founders of enna, explains:

With enna, we wanted to create a low-threshold tool for people without digital literacy, as it is precisely those who are often forgotten in our everyday digital lives. We are very happy that digital participation for all has such a high priority at O2 and that from now we can jointly make even more families happy.

And Florian Bogenschütz, CEO of Wayra Germany, Telefónica's Open Innovation Hub, also comments:

We believe in the potential of enna. We were convinced by the simple way in which this innovative communication solution enables older people in particular to participate in digital life. We are proud to be a part of this mission and look forward to further collaboration.

The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship congratulates its alumni on this partnership and wishes the enna team further success in the future!
