Wilhelm Schmid on "The Search for Meaning as a Source of Creativity" - Interview in the context of the lecture series on 19.03.2013. Wilhelm Schmid lives as a freelance philosopher in Berlin and teaches philosophy at the University of Erfurt. For years he was a guest lecturer in Riga and Tbilisi as well as a "philosophical pastor" at a hospital near Zurich. In his academic and literary work, Schmid is interested in the re-foundation of a modern philosophy of life. Central themes are the individual search for meaning and the personal pursuit of happiness. Schmid has published guidebooks and academic texts on this subject. In 2012, he published his book "Unglücklich sein. An Encouragement." In it, he describes being "unhappy" as a source of creativity and innovation.

In March 2013, his book "Dem Leben Sinn geben. Von der Lebenskunst im Umgang mit Anderen und der Welt" will be published, which deals with the relevance of personal sense-making.
