More than 100 representatives of 35 universities from all over Germany, the project lead VDI Technologiezentrum and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) met at the HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship on March 14 and 15, 2023 for the first status meeting within the StartUpLab@FH program. The aim of the meeting was to promote the exchange and networking of the funded universities and to strengthen cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship.

The two-day program offered a wealth of exciting workshops, pitch presentations, discussions and lectures.

The first day of the event focused on project work and networking. For example, participants were able to visit the Precelerator, HM/SCE's StartUpLab, or network with other makers during speed dating. In the evening, a world café with seven topic tables took place, where the experiences of the participants on different topics were exchanged.

On the second day, Prof. Dr. Martin Leitner, President of HM, welcomed the guests and MinR Magnus Milde (BMBF) emphasized in his keynote speech the importance of the program for promoting entrepreneurship at universities. Prof. Dr. Klaus Sailer spoke on "Responsible Entrepreneurship as a Driver of Social Innovation" and students and project leaders discussed the topic "Does a StartUpLab change the university?" Another highlight of the status meeting were the pitch presentations of a total of nine StartUpLabs.

The participants were enthusiastic about the event and the exchange with other universities. "The status meeting was a great opportunity to network with other StartUpLabs and exchange experiences," said one participant. Dr. Marie-Therese Kuhnert (Project Lead at the Management Agency VDI Technologiezentrum) was also very satisfied with the course of the jointly planned event and Prof. Dr. Herbert Gillig (Head of the Preclerator) was impressed by the diversity of the StartUpLabs:

"Even though the StartUpLabs have many things in common, they have to take into account the specific conditions of the respective university as well as regional circumstances in order to be successful." Prof. Dr. Herbert Gillig, Head of the Precelerator at HM said.

"As organizer and host of the status meeting, we are pleased to be able to promote the exchange of good practice methods in the field of entrepreneurship between the 35 universities," said Prof. Dr. Thomas Stumpp, Vice President of HM, at the end of the two intensive days.

Overall, the first status meeting was a great success and an important impulse for the promotion of entrepreneurship at German universities. We are excited about the further developments within the StartUpLab@FH program and look forward to the next status meeting in Cologne!
