SCE startups Furward and micro factory among the nominees of the Munich Business Plan Competition 2026

Go back

Two teams from the SCE environment have been nominated for Phase 1 of this year's BayStartUP Munich Business Plan Competition : Furward and micro factory 3D Solutions, both SCE Incubation Alumni. We are very pleased about this recognition and congratulate both teams on their nomination.

AI for animal health: Furward

Furward is developing an AI-supported camera system for the early detection of diseases in cattle. The aim is to provide farmers with data-based information to identify health abnormalities at an early stage and act accordingly. In doing so, the team is addressing a key challenge in modern agriculture: combining animal health, efficiency and sustainability.

The founder behind Furward is Wenyi Mo. The nomination in the first phase of the competition underlines the potential of the technological solution and the relevance of the topic for the agricultural sector.

Automated 3D printing systems: micro factory

micro factory develops automated SLA and MSLA 3D printing systems with an integrated process chain for regulated environments. The focus is on making additive manufacturing more reliable, scalable and usable for industrial applications - especially where standardized processes and high quality requirements are crucial.

The team consists of Maximilian Straßer (CEO), Alexander Stieren (CFO / COO) and Leonard Krebs (CTO). The nomination in the competition shows how consistently the team has developed its technology and transferred it into specific fields of application.

Stage for innovation from Upper Bavaria

The Munich Business Plan Competition is part of the three-stage Bavarian Business Plan Competitions organized by BayStartUP. In phase 1, teams from Upper Bavaria traditionally compete before the competition opens up to the whole of Southern Bavaria in the subsequent phases. The award ceremony for the nominees will take place on March 4, 2026 in Munich.

For us at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship, it's great to see how our start-ups hold their own in a highly competitive environment and make their topics visible. Milestones like this not only strengthen the individual teams, but also our community as a whole.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for Furward and micro factory for the award and look forward to the next steps of both teams.
