A water gun that doesn't look like a toy and shoots water with plenty of pressure? What began about ten years ago with an idea and the first prototypes is now an internationally successful Munich-based company: Spyra. The SCE Alumni startup develops innovative water blasters that combine technology, product design, and summer fun. The products are now sold in Europe, the U.S., Japan, and Australia.

The early days at the SCE and Munich University of Applied Sciences also play a role: To develop the first prototypes, the founding team utilized the university’s facilities as part of the SCE Incubation support program—sometimes with rather wet results. Today, the Spyra team is working on the next generation of its products and continuously refining its water blasters.
Spyra’s story shows once again what can be achieved when an unusual idea, technical know-how, and a great deal of perseverance come together to create a real product.
