The evening was hosted by HM Professor Nicole Brunnhuber and SCE Startup Coach Lars Schepp, complemented by live music from co-organizer Petra Wiese, while Georg Eisenreich, Uschi Glas and Martin Leitner were among the guests. However, the focus of the evening was undoubtedly on the twelve talks given by the speakers. In addition to personal learning experiences and turning points, the focus was on topics such as AI, responsibility and personal development.
HM Vice President Klaus Kreulich and Paul Sudnik gave suggestions on the future roles of humans and AI in science and teaching. This was followed by scientific findings and tips against the growing problem of too much screen time from Rimsha Sajid and Sima Sommer.
Guy Katz, the initiator of the event, Anjes Kubiak and Dan Ariely each spoke about identity, conformity and how risky decisions can inspire us. Elke Wolf, Julia Schön and former SCE employee Verena Kaiser presented their strategies for more sustainability and equality.
We also listened intently to Ronja Fleckenstein, Barbara Wolf and Matthias Paulat de Alarcón, who emphasized the role of entrepreneurship and learning from mistakes as important aspects of their lives in their respective presentations.
You can find out more about the individual speakers and their topics here, and some of the talks are also already available as videos on the TEDx Talks YouTube channel. The SCE would like to thank all members of the organizing team as well as all speakers for the unforgettable evening, full of exchange and new perspectives, and is already looking forward to next year!
