What began as a bold experiment in a small garage in 2006 is now one of Munich's most exciting breweries: Steffen Marx, a career changer with a degree in surveying and brewing, has written a real success story with Giesinger Biermanufaktur. Despite financial hurdles and initial uncertainties, he remained true to his vision - and was rewarded.
With the opening of a new location in 2014 and official recognition as a Munich brewery in 2020, Giesinger Bräu has firmly established itself in the city's traditional beer landscape. Today, the company is one of the largest private breweries in Munich - with a clear focus on quality, regionality and innovative spirit.
Crowdfunding, community and big visions
A central building block of success: the close connection to the community. Steffen Marx relied on crowdfunding early on and managed to build up not only capital but also enthusiasm for his brand. This closeness to supporters still characterizes Giesinger Bräu today.
Marx also broke new ground culturally: his entrepreneurial journey was accompanied by the film "Out of Giesing" - another example of his unconventional approach.
