55% of start-ups are created at universities. This makes them important sources of talent, but in our experience, research does not equal innovation. This requires targeted support for entrepreneurial thinking, implementation skills and interdisciplinary teams.
With only 17% female founders, Bavaria is below the national average. The solution to this lies in targeted incentives, as successful programs such as exist Women have shown us at the SCE: When structural obstacles disappear, new female founders also emerge.
And while 77% of founders rate the Munich ecosystem as positive, over 30% of them still complain about a shortage of skilled workers. This gap needs to be closed with better collaboration and networking, as innovation is known to only succeed with the right mix of talent.
In summary, Bavaria remains an attractive startup hotspot compared to the rest of Germany. However, to ensure that this remains the case, the state, business and education must continue to work closely together and focus on entrepreneurial thinking, equal opportunities and cooperation. The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship is proud to play its part in this!
