The application period for the 2026 Strascheg Ideas Award is entering its final stretch. Students, professors, staff, and alumni of Munich University of Applied Sciences, as well as external startup teams, have until October 18, 2026, to submit their business ideas.
Whether it’s an initial idea from your college days, an innovative project stemming from research or practical experience, or a startup project that has already been tested on the market: the ideas competition organized by Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship provides the perfect platform for business ideas at various stages of development.
Across all three competition categories, prize money totaling 30,000 euros will be awarded.
Three Categories for Innovative Business Ideas
Category 1: Best Business Idea from College
We are looking for innovative business ideas that originated during college.
Category 2: Best Business Idea from Research and Practice
This category recognizes entrepreneurial ideas, projects, and academic work with innovation and startup potential.
Category 3: Best Business Idea with Initial Market Validation
This category is for business ideas and startup projects that have already demonstrated initial market validation.
Students, professors, staff, and alumni of Munich University of Applied Sciences are eligible to apply for Categories 1 and 2. The third category is also open to external teams with initial market validation.
Why It’s Worth Applying
The winners will share in a total prize pool of 30,000 euros. In addition, all applicants will receive a personalized consultation and expert feedback on their business idea.
There is also the chance to receive support through the SCE Incubation program. This includes intensive coaching, exclusive workshops, a prototyping budget, and a workspace in the incubator. Selected teams will also have the opportunity to present their business idea to experts from the business world, academia, and the startup community.
