The two co-founders of Puray, Martin Duffner and Eduardo Romero Borrero, accepted the prestigious award.
Ulrich Leitermann, CEO of the Signal Iduna Group and presenter of the award, praised the start-up: "You have succeeded in developing a groundbreaking product. With a small, innovative device, you offer patients with indwelling catheters protection against infections without the use of antibiotics. Your catheter is a revolutionary solution - it not only solves a major problem for the patients concerned, but also relieves the burden on the healthcare system by avoiding the costs of complications."
Martin Duffner from Puray stated after the award ceremony: "This recognition fills us with pride and gratitude, and the moment of the award ceremony will remain a very fond memory for us. We really appreciate the great support and are convinced that this award will help us a lot in the future."
The award is endowed with prize money of €5,000 and honors outstanding innovations in the field of environment and health every two years. In addition to Puray, the following were honored: The Climate Protection Agency Mannheim with the special prize in the category Transformation Consumer, The Saar-Lor-Lux Environmental Center with the special prize Transformation Company, and OLDUS GmbH with the main prize Environment.
