The team, which now consists of seven members, has declared war on hospital-acquired infections and developed a catheter that can disinfect itself using UV light. This helps reduce antibiotic use and prevent the spread of multidrug-resistant bacteria.
With their idea, co-founders Martin Duffner, Eduardo Romero Borrero, Christina Scherzer, and Erick Daniel Pano Paniagua won the 2020 Strascheg Ideas Award. They subsequently successfully completed Batch #6 of the SCE Incubation program and, after receiving funding from exist and FLÜGGE, secure many other awards, such as the Health-i-Award 2022, the Signal Iduna Prize, and the 2024 Prize for Innovation in Medical Technology!
