SmartAIs is the winner of the German Mobility Award

SmartAIs, an alumni of the SCE Incubation Program, is one of the five winners of the German Mobility Award 2024. The prize from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) honors innovative projects that aim to rethink and shape the future of mobility. The prize was awarded by Federal Minister Volker Wissing at the Federal Government's Digital Summit in Frankfurt am Main. He reports:

"This year's award winners impressively illustrate how the mobility of the future can be shaped. From innovative solutions to support blind and visually impaired people to networked mobility systems [...] - the variety of ideas shows how sustainable and forward-looking mobility can be. In addition, new concepts in local transport, especially in rural areas, are setting new standards for flexible and accessible mobility for all."

SmartAIs won in the "Digital Transformation & AI" category with their obstacle detection app, which uses sounds to help visually impaired people find their way through the urban jungle. They were also part of Batch #9 of the SCE Incubation Program.
