From an idea to a profitable business: Brakeable becomes simplysolve

Go back

Some startup stories are particularly compelling examples of what can happen when a good idea grows into a sustainable business over the course of several years. Our startup Brakeable is writing just such a story, and it is now operating under a new name: simplysolve.

Over the past few years, the team led by founder and CEO Stefan Hauser has gone through nearly every stage of the SCE startup support program. From the initial steps in the incubation phase through participation in AI+ Munich (now AI Nation) to funding via the exist startup grant and the exist Research Transfer 2 program, the company’s development has been continuously guided and supported.

With the rebranding to simplysolve, the company is now underscoring its strategic evolution. The SaaS platform is establishing itself as an intelligent pre-screening layer for customer service processes related to complaints, warranties, repairs, and replacement parts. The platform operates between end customers and existing system landscapes, automatically qualifies each inquiry, and determines which solution best suits the customer—for example, repair by the manufacturer, local service partner, DIY instructions, spare part order, exchange, replacement product, or voucher.

The results so far speak for themselves: at client Ortlieb, 96 percent of all service inquiries were resolved without the need for manual follow-up. At the same time, around one-third of online inquiries are specifically redirected to brick-and-mortar specialty retailers if the best solution for customers is available there. With SPORT 2000, another well-known partner has now been added.

Sustainability, reimagined.

simplysolve goes beyond the traditional repair paradigm.

“Sustainability doesn’t automatically mean: repair by the brand,” says Stefan Hauser, founder and CEO of simplysolve. Sustainability means properly assessing every inquiry—is the product repairable, who can repair it best, is the local service partner around the corner perhaps the better option, or can the customer do it themselves with the right instructions? It is precisely this assessment that is rarely automated today—and that is exactly where the greatest friction losses occur, both ecologically and economically.”

We are particularly pleased with the company’s sustainable development. The currently ongoing exist Research Transfer 2 program ends in September 2026—and already today, simplysolve is operating profitably and is self-financed. A remarkable milestone that demonstrates how science-based innovation can give rise to a successful business model.

We are very pleased with the successes that Stefan Hauser and his team have achieved in recent years. At the same time, we look forward with anticipation to the next steps and the further development of simplysolve. The rebranding marks not only a new name but also the beginning of a new chapter on the path to becoming the industry standard for intelligent service processes.
