SFF opens Deep Tech Innovation Port in Varna

Unification, Partnerships, Talents, Communications: These were the overarching themes at the SFF Deep Technology Port in Varna, one of the first innovation valleys operating under the Start for Future framework.

On October 17th, 2022 Junior Achievement Bulgaria and The Edge - Research & Business Development in cooperation with the University of Economics - Varna, representatives of regional universities, industry partners and industry clusters, governmental organizations and startups from the region, opened the Innovation Port which will drive innovation activities in the upcoming period. The grand opening was supported by the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel, Minister of Innovation and Growth Alexander Pulev, the Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov, the Mayor of Varna Ivan Portnih, EIT Urban Mobility Academy Director Martin Vendel, CEO of Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship Klaus Sailer, and representatives of the academic, business and startup communities.

Joining forces, building synergies, and providing space for co-creation within and amongst innovation ecosystems in Europe are the overall goals of Start for Future, with which we can more substantially support the implementation of the new European Innovation Agenda, making Europe the leader of responsible and impact driven innovation once again.
