The DBA is a part-time doctoral program with an international degree designed specifically for managers and executives in senior positions, which we run in partnership with Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh Business School in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Swansea University. Heriot Watt University is a business school in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland. Swansea University is located in the south west of England in Wales. Both universities are regularly ranked among the top 300 world universities in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The aim is to make an important contribution to entrepreneurial knowledge through practice-oriented research, thereby advancing the company and the doctoral student in their development, and the program is application-oriented and adapted to the needs of the economy. In addition to imparting the necessary academic research skills, we place an equally high value on individual support for each doctoral student and the company. After successfully completing the program, DBA graduates are entitled to use the German title "Dr.". Much more than the academic degree of doctor, a doctorate stands for excellent intellectual abilities and for the highest professional and personal qualifications. For the individual, this is a decisive step in their own personal development. It also means a significant gain in competence for companies. In a changing and globalized economy, obtaining a doctorate is increasingly becoming a decisive competitive advantage.
Admission requirements for the part-time DBA are a completed academic degree with a Diplom, Magister or Master's degree and several years of practical professional experience. The application includes a preliminary research proposal with a scientifically sound presentation of the research project, as well as a curriculum vitae, a copy of the diploma/master's certificate and proof of several years of professional experience. If necessary, proof of good English language skills will be requested. This can also be provided during the application process. (TOEFL IBT 100+ or IELTS 7+)
DBA Day participants can take the opportunity to talk to supervising professors from Heriot Watt University, Swansea University and program managers from Munich, discuss their research question and register.
The event will be held in English and is non-binding and free of charge.
