10 months ago, our Start-up League team XTRPY (formerly aephus) received the EXIST-Gründerstipendium from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to focus on exactly this topic. This start-up may be familiar to some from the Strascheg Award 2020, where they won in the category "Best Business Idea from a Course". The idea was born in the Deep Dive Master Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation.

Falls and their consequences are a global problem that is growing steadily due to an aging society, a shortage of caregivers and rising care costs. In Germany, 8.68 million people of the 60+ generation fall statistically per year, which corresponds to about 16.5 falls per minute. Existing solutions, such as manual home emergency call buttons, brand wearers as in need of assistance and miss other essential customer needs.

"With the help of versatile support from the SCE and Munich University of Applied Sciences, our Lifestein product is now close to being ready for mass production. We are looking forward to an exciting year 2023 - we have a lot planned!", says the team.

Lifestein is modular jewelry for your parents and grandparents with automatic fall detection and notification features to improve quality of care. Unlike existing solutions, it works independently of location and completely autonomously thanks to IoT technology.
