When Sinéad decided to ‘make the jump’ and start her own business in 2017 – the future didn’t look so bright. Being recently divorced, a single mom of four kids, and zero funds in the bank one usually would look out for a secure and safe job. Not Sinéad! She decided to make the leap and found her start-up Soothing Solutions, an Irish start-up that manufactures medicinal-free and innovative products for children’s health. With more than 25 years of work experience as a pharmaceutical technician, the idea of jelly throat pops for children was growing inside of her since a very young age and she used to make jokes about it with her colleagues, saying: “One day, I’m gonna make a jelly throat pop, and I’m gonna make it really child friendly. And it’s going to fly off the shelves!”
Even though Sinéad would have wished for a less dramatic tipping point, with her 2 year old son being in hospital fighting for his life, and her feeling totally guilty that he had an accident at home with the babysitter as she had to work that day to pay the household bills, this “one day” arrived. After her son got better, she thought again about her idea, sat down, opened her laptop and googled: “how do you make a product from scratch?”

Today, she is the successful founder and CEO of Soothing Solutions Ltd, a company manufacturing innovative products such as Tonstix Pops for children’s coughs and colds.
