Puray receives FLÜGGE funding

Go back

After successfully completing batch #6 of the SCE start-up funding program, winning first place in the Strascheg Award 2020 and receiving the EXIST start-up grant, Puray has now been able to announce another highlight with the receipt of FLÜGGE funding.

The Bavarian funding program FLÜGGE (Förderprogramm zur Unterstützung des leichteren Übergangs in eine Gründerexistenz), coordinated by Bayern Innovativ, supports start-ups from Bavarian universities in the fields of research, technology and innovation every year. It enables young companies to accelerate the introduction and dissemination of modern technologies and services in business and society.

ABOUT Puray
Associated infections are among the most frequent, most expensive and most dangerous complications in the operating theater. Puray is developing a medical catheter that eliminates the risk of infection. Their product emits UVC light at a wavelength that has the unique property of killing pathogens while being safe for humans. This means that the catheter can be permanently and safely disinfected during the procedure for the first time. And best of all, their technology saves on antibiotics and is also effective against multi-resistant pathogens.

Puray has already won several awards with its innovative product. Starting with the Strascheg Award 2020, through the Health-i-Award 2022 from Handelsblatt and Techniker Krankenkasse, to the Signal Iduna Environment and Health Award in the health category. In addition to HM alumni Christina Weber and Eduardo Romero Borrero, both FK06, the founding team also includes Martin Duffner and Erick Pano.

"We are very happy to have found the perfect mentor in Prof. Hanshans (FK06), an experienced infectiologist, medical technician and head of the BioMed Lab at HM." - Puray

"Thanks to FLÜGGE, we can continue to use the infrastructure at HM and SCE that we are familiar with and that we built up during Exist, which allows us to invest more resources in production/development.
By the end of the scholarship, our goal is to advance product development and validation enough to qualify for further funding models. " - Puray

We wish the whole team all the best and look forward to accompanying you on your exciting journey.
