Conditions of participation Strascheg Award

 

Category-specific conditions of participation:


Category 1: Best business idea from the study period at HM


1. At least one team member must be enrolled at Munich University of Applied Sciences at the time of application
2. It is not important where the business idea originated. (The idea may have originated during a course (e.g. real project, APE program, Deep Dive Master or other startup simulation courses, etc.), but it does not have to.
3. Business ideas and inventions that are the subject of a final thesis at Munich University of Applied Sciences are also submitted in this category (exmatriculated students can submit their final thesis in category 3).

 

Category 2: Best business idea from science and practice


1) At least one team member must be an alumnus, professor, lecturer or employee of Munich University of Applied Sciences.
2. Business ideas and inventions that were the subject of a dissertation or research project at Munich University of Applied Sciences are also submitted in this category (enrolled students can also submit their thesis in category 1).
3. Business ideas that are further developed as part of the SCE Incubation Program can also be submitted here.

 

Category 3: Best business idea HM external teams with first MVP (New!)

1. External HM teams from the Munich metropolitan region can apply here with their inventions and business ideas.
2. There must be a functional MVP and initial LOIs from potential test customers
3. The teams may be incorporated for a maximum of 2 years and should not have received more than €20,000 in funding to date.

 

General conditions of participation for all categories:


1. Applicants who are already and/or have already been in a government funding program with their idea at the time of application (e.g. AI+/AI Nation, EXIST, FLÜGGE) may not participate in the competition.
2. Business ideas that have already been spun off are also not eligible.
3. At least one team member from the respective nominated idea undertakes to attend the award ceremony on behalf of the team and present the submitted idea (pitch of max. 5 minutes).
4. Individuals or teams can apply.
5. The applicants who have developed or carried out the project, idea or scientific work must have the desire and will to implement or commercialize the idea or project. The prize money should be used to advance this project.
6. A formal foundation for the implementation of the submitted idea, project or scientific work may only have already taken place in category 3 at the time of submission.
7. The applicants assure that their submitted business idea originates exclusively from them and that no rights of third parties are infringed.
8. Applications will only be considered if they are complete, in German or English and received in good time by the respective application deadline via the online form. Submitted applications will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt.
9. Non-award-winning projects may expressly be resubmitted in subsequent years. Winners of previous competitions may reapply with ideas that have not yet won an award.
10. Business ideas from start-up teams that have already received EXIST, FLÜGGE or AI+/NATION funding are excluded from the application process
11. The business ideas will be evaluated by a specialist jury consisting of entrepreneurship experts from SCE/Munich University of Applied Sciences and external partners. The evaluation is based on the following criteria Degree of innovation, market potential, implementation prospects.
12. Confidential treatment of all submitted ideas is guaranteed.
13. The jury will select the nominees and winners in the three categories. The nominees will be informed personally. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony.
14. The participation of the nominees in the Strascheg Award ceremony at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and a brief presentation of the idea at the event are obligatory.
15. A symbolic check will be presented to the winners at the award ceremony at Munich University of Applied Sciences. Payment of the total prize money will be made after the symbolic check presentation by bank transfer to an agreed account of the winners. In addition to the prize money, an exclusive coaching package is also part of the prize. The coaching package starts immediately after the award ceremony.
16. All participants in the competition will receive an invitation to a personal consultation in which they will receive qualified feedback on their business idea.
17. Participants agree that their personal data, in particular name, e-mail and address, will be stored beyond the duration of the competition. The storage can be revoked at any time after the end of the competition with effect for the future.
18. False information provided during registration or in connection with the entry will lead to exclusion.
19 German law will apply. Should any of these terms and conditions be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining terms and conditions.
20. Legal recourse is excluded.
