Category-specific conditions of participation:

Category 1: Best business idea from a course.

1. the three best entrepreneurial ideas from a course will be awarded.

2. the submitted business idea must have been developed during a course at the HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences or at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE). This includes both curricular and extracurricular events (e.g. entrepreneurship seminars as part of one's own degree program, Real Projects, APE certificate, workshops and summer schools or the Global Entrepreneurship Summer School, Start-up Weekend Munich as well as the two-year certificate program ZGI of the Social Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA), etc.).

3. by submitting, the resulting nominees commit to participate in the Strascheg Award ceremony.

 

Category 2: Best business idea during the study period

1. the three best entrepreneurial ideas of enrolled students of the HM, which have not been developed in the context of courses, will be awarded a prize.

2. at least one team member must be enrolled at the HM at the time of application.

3. it is not decisive where the business idea originated. (If the idea originated during a course, it must be submitted in category 1).

4. business ideas that are the subject of a final thesis at the HM are also submitted in this category (exmatriculated students can submit their final thesis in category 3).

 

Category 3: Best business idea from science and practice

1. at least one team member must be an alumnus, professor, lecturer or employee of the HM.

2. business ideas that were the subject of final theses at the HM are also submitted in this category (enrolled students can submit their final thesis in category 2).

3. business ideas that were developed in the context of courses or qualification offers and events at the HM or at the SCE will be submitted in category 1.

 

General conditions of participation for all categories:

1.) Applicants who are and/or have been in a funding program with their idea (e.g. EXIST, FLÜGGE) are excluded from the competition.

2.) Business ideas that have already been spun off are also not eligible.

3.) At least one team member of the nominated idea commits to participate in the award ceremony as a representative of the team and to present the submitted idea (pitch of max. 5 minutes).

4.) Individuals or teams can apply.

5.) The applicant(s) who developed or carried out the project, idea or scientific work must have the desire and will to implement or commercialize the idea or project. The prize money should be used to advance this project.

6.) A formal foundation for the implementation of the submitted idea, project or scientific work must not have been established at the time of submission.

7.) The applicants assure that their submitted business idea originates exclusively from them and that no rights of third parties are violated.

8.) Only applications that are complete, in German or English, and submitted in time by the respective application deadline via the online form will be considered. Submitted applications will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt.

9.) Projects that have not received an award may expressly be resubmitted in subsequent years. Winners of previous competitions may reapply with ideas that have not yet received an award.

10.) Business ideas of founding teams that have already been supported at the SCE and/or by other organizations with material resources and/or financial contributions and/or infrastructure are excluded from the application.

11.) The business ideas will be evaluated by a jury consisting of entrepreneurship experts from SCE/HM and external partners. The evaluation is based on the following criteria: Degree of innovation, market potential, implementation prospects.

12.) The confidential treatment of all submitted ideas is guaranteed.

13.) The jury determines the nominees and winners in the three categories. The nominees will be informed personally. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony.

14.) The participation of the nominees in the award ceremony of the Strascheg Award at the HM as well as a short presentation of the idea during the event are obligatory.

15.) A symbolic check will be handed over to the winners at the award ceremony at the HM. The total amount of the prize money will be paid out after the symbolic check has been handed over by bank transfer to an agreed account of the winners.

16.) All participants of the competition will receive an invitation to a personal consultation, during which they will receive qualified feedback on their business idea.

17.) The participants agree that their personal data, in particular name, e-mail and address, will be stored beyond the duration of the competition. The storage can be revoked at any time after the end of the competition with effect for the future.

18.) False information during registration or in connection with the entry will lead to exclusion.

19.) German law applies. Should any of these terms and conditions be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining terms and conditions.

20.) The legal process is excluded.
