Puray wins start-up competition at the AMR conference

Go back

After successfully completing the SCE Incubation Program (formerly the Start-up Certificate) in 2021, start-up Puray has now taken first place in the start-up competition at the AMR conference.

The Puray team has achieved some other significant milestones in recent years, such as winning the Signal Iduna Health Award 2023, the Health-i-Award 2022 and the Strascheg Award 2020 in the category "Best business idea during the study period". They have also already received the EXIST start-up grant from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and FLÜGGE funding.

Puray's idea is a catheter that protects patients from infections using UV-C light. It prevents the use of antibiotics, is even effective against multi-resistant pathogens and represents a real breakthrough in the fight against hospital infections. The team has applied for a patent for its technology and is planning to found a company in the future.

The AMR conference is a platform for SMEs, start-ups, big pharma, academics, investors and public institutions. Overarching topics are helpful strategies as well as specific challenges that SMEs might face when bringing new antimicrobial treatments and diagnostics to the market. The 8th AMR conference took place from 06-07.03.2024 in Basel.

We wish the Puray team all the best and look forward to their further development! More information can be found on their LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram channels as well as on their website www.puray.de
