The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is expanding its start-up funding for female entrepreneurs and founders from the scientific community. To this end, the established EXIST funding program is being expanded to include the new "EXIST-Women" funding line. Munich University of Applied Sciences (HM) and its entrepreneurship center Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) committed themselves early on to the topic of entrepreneurship for future-oriented education. This commitment has made HM and SCE the leading entrepreneurial university in Germany. However, as the proportion of women who want to become entrepreneurs is still low, the SCE has created the "SCE Women" program under the new funding line, which aims to help increase the number of female founders through events, mentoring and networking activities.

Many thanks to all participants for submitting their business ideas for the Strascheg Award 2023! At the SFF Moonshot Summit 2023 on November 30, the participants of the idea competition will be celebrated and 12 international/national winners will be chosen. They can look forward to a combined prize money of €35,000! As a special feature this year, the start-ups from the Start for Future Cooperative, Europe's dynamic and fast-growing innovation alliance that brings together universities, start-ups, industry and public institutions, will be honored alongside the ideas from Munich University of Applied Sciences.

On Thursday, November 30, the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) invites you to the getSTARTed Experience Day. In the entrance area under the Red Cube in the main building, you can immerse yourself in the world of innovation and creativity from 10:00 to 17:00.

Together with our unique network of high-ranking stakeholders from industry, universities, start-ups, the public sector and business-oriented individuals, we are tackling the challenges in the field of AI in Munich. We want to set impulses and discuss solutions to strengthen Munich's outstanding position as a location for innovation and a strong ecosystem. After the panel discussion, selected AI start-ups will pitch on stage, followed by an opportunity to network and exchange ideas and contacts.

The new anthology "Teaching and Learning in Virtual Space", edited by Sibylle Matern and HM Vice President for Teaching Klaus Kreulich (ed.), offers insights into current research and innovative approaches to the use of virtual reality in education. The authors from Munich University of Applied Sciences examine how the learning behavior of individuals and groups changes when using immersive media, what skills the actors need and what opportunities virtual technologies offer in the university context and in the world of work. With the Start?Zuschuss! funding competition, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs regularly supports founders in the initial phase of their entrepreneurial projects. The winners of the 16th round of the funding program have now been announced! A total of 20 start-ups from all over Bavaria were able to secure the funding. Among them are once again several start-ups from the SCE.

Experience the SCE start-ups live on December 5 and get into the pre-Christmas spirit at the same time. The Christmas Edition of the Innovation Café will focus on our SCE start-up community. You'll have the opportunity to get to know the personalities behind exciting start-ups from our community and ask the founders any questions you've always wanted to ask in person. In a pre-seed financing round, the AI+Munich funded team from Summ AI receives a investment in the seven-figure range. Their concept: complex texts are converted into simple language by the Munich-based start-up's AI solution, in order to make them more accessible.
