From Regional to European: Advancing Innovation in Europe

On March 11, 2025, Brussels hosted an important gathering at the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU. Organized within the framework of the SFF-driven project SYSTEMEU, the event brought together more than 80 experts from academia, industry, and policymaking in person, and an additional 50 participants joining online. The focus was on how strengthening connections between Europe’s diverse regions can drive the next phase of innovation and competitiveness.

A warm welcome to the 28 inter/national startups in our Batch #13 in SCE Incubation! We look forward to supporting these innovative and exciting start-up projects over the next 6 months and to accompanying the founders on their individual start-up journey!

We offer the accepted early stage start-ups in an incubation tailored to their phase: intensive coaching (SCE start-up consultants, mentors, start-up alumni from the network), a workplace in the incubator as a start-up home, infrastructure with laboratories/workshops, prototyping budget, various specialist workshops, access to an entire ecosystem of experts, supporters and like-minded people at regional and international level and much more.

Start-up Radar 2025: Hochschule München and Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship again in first place

Munich, 03.03.2025 - Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences (HM) and its Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) are once again at the top of the Stifterverband's start-up radar. In the "Large Universities" category (more than 15,000 students), they not only took first place, as in 2022, but also once again achieved the highest score of all participating universities with 58.8 out of 60 points. This confirms HM's status as the leading start-up university in Germany.

Munich's Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship among the top 10% of Europe's best start-up hubs

SCE and Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences rank 12th in the renowned Financial Times ranking

Munich, 27.02.2025 - The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE), the Entrepreneurship Center of Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences (HM), is one of the leading start-up hubs in Europe. In the current ranking "Europe's Leading Start-up Hubs 2025" by the Financial Times, the SCE secured an outstanding 12th place among the 150 best start-up hubs in Europe. In Germany, the SCE is ranked fifth, making it one of the top players in Germany.

The ranking, which was compiled by the Financial Times in collaboration with the renowned market research company Statista and the start-up portal Sifted, is based on extensive alumni evaluations, expert recommendations and the track record of funded start-ups. More than 4,300 founders from all over Europe took part in the evaluation.

KickStart@HM funding from the BMBF for Complant and ZeroRunWay

Together with our start-ups, we are delighted to have received KickStart@HM funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for our start-up teams Complant and ZeroRunWay! The funding supports particularly innovative research ideas with a material budget of up to €7,500 and with advice and access to the premises of a local "StartUpLab". In the case of our three teams, this means an incubator extension of 3 months.

EIC Accelerator funding in the millions for Holloid

Startup Holloid, a participant in Batch #6 of the SCE's Dynamic Innovation Campus (DICA) , has secured one of the coveted grants from the EIC Accelerator. The company specializes in holographic microscopy of liquids and, according to the EIC jury, is one of the best 71 technology startups in Europe 2024 - out of over 1,200 applications.

CoCreate2Innovate: Successful kick-off in Pisa

The official kickoff on February 12 and 13 in Pisa marked the start of the EIT Urban Mobility-funded CoCreate2Innovate project.
