On April 23, 2026, it will be unusually young again at Munich University of Applied Sciences: At the nationwide Girls'Day and Boys'Day, students will get a taste of new professional fields and discover perspectives beyond classic role models. The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) is also represented this year with an interactive Girls'Day workshop and invites you to experience innovation and start-ups up close. Register now!

On May 9, 2026 from 10:00 to 16:00, the Ammersee Denkerhaus together with the SCE invites you to the hackathon "Smart and regionally solved" in Dießen am Ammersee. Who can take part? Anyone interested - from individuals and start-ups to newly formed teams. What is it about? We are looking for innovative solutions to current challenges facing the regional economy, such as AI in local businesses, sustainable tourism, mobility, municipal sustainability or new training methods in industry. Why take part? After the hackathon, the best ideas will be further developed together with mentors from the regional economy and could ideally lead to the founding of a company. From SCE Incubation to space tech pioneer: Munich startup Dcubed develops innovative technologies that enable satellite structures to unfold in space. In an interview with Munich Startup, founder Dr. Thomas Sinn talks about origami-inspired space solutions and the future of production in orbit.

The Freelance Summit 2026 has the motto "Ready for the future" and focuses on key developments in freelancing, innovation and new forms of collaboration. The focus will be on topics such as artificial intelligence and its influence on self-employment, current market insights and trends, hybrid teams and future-relevant skills. Talks, panels and networking formats offer space for exchange, new contacts and cooperation.

A limited number of free tickets are available for students. A total of 20 free tickets can be allocated to interested parties who would like to take an early look at self-employment, innovation and future working models.

The Bavarian Founder Award returns. From 1997 to 2019, the Bavarian Savings Banks presented the Bavarian Founder Award. From 2026, the award will once again be presented in various categories along the entrepreneurial development process. The Bavarian Founder Award puts the spotlight on personalities who recognize opportunities, take responsibility and develop sustainable business models from ideas. Applications for start-ups and up-and-comers are still possible until April 30, 2026.

The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) and Zoho are launching a partnership to help startups build professional, integrated and scalable processes. SCE teams will receive Zoho Wallet Credits worth up to 4,000 euros, onboarding, expert access and workshops.

The APE International Bootcamp took place at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship in Munich at the beginning of March. Around 50 students from international and Bavarian partner universities - including Edinburgh Napier University, Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague - came together for an intensive week of work.

The City of Munich has launched the 2026 innovation competition: From now on, start-ups, students and creative talents can apply with innovative solution ideas for specific smart city challenges. The closing date for entries is May 17, 2026.

We congratulate the startup BauByte (formerly WattWert) on receiving the exist start-up grant! With the support of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE), the team has reached another important milestone. The team is developing a building data platform for the construction sector: using patented computer vision, measurements are digitized with smartphone photos and addresses in under 10 minutes - instead of hours. With the European innovation project SystemEU, a new open call for funding interregional innovation projects with funding opportunities of up to €2.2 million will be launched in June 2026. The Social Startup Hub Bavaria of the Social Entrepreneurship Academy, together with the TU Munich, invites you to the Social Business Meetup Munich on April 23 from 6 to 8 pm at the Vorhoelzer Forum. You can expect first-hand insights from the founders Alina Friedrichs(guud) and Katharina Hesseler (Omegga). They will share honest experiences from their start-ups and give you valuable tips for your own project. The Bavaria Startup & Scaleup Monitor 2026 shows impressive figures: +46% more startups than in 2025, +4,400 startups in Bavaria (2,445 of them from the Munich region) and €2.7 billion in investments in Munich. But from our point of view, the more exciting question is not how much, but HOW we start up:

Batch #14 of SCE Incubation officially came to an end with a final pitch event. The participating start-ups presented their final investor pitches and impressively demonstrated the progress they have made over the past few months. The teams impressed the audience with their clear visions and tangible entrepreneurial spirit.

Following the presentations, all founders received their official SCE Incubation Certificate, a recognition of their intensive work, continuous learning and development during the program. The evening ended with an open networking session where start-ups, coaches and partners were able to exchange ideas and make new contacts.

With the cooperative, part-time doctoral program "Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA)", the SCE offers another doctoral opportunity in addition to the DBI. You can get an overview of the contents and the procedure on DBA Day 2026, on April 24, 2026. The event will take place as a face-to-face event at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship.
