The Social Startup Hub Bavaria is launching a new, free and virtual format for people interested in startups, the "Happy Impact Hour". The next session of the monthly format will take place on March 14, 2023 at 6 pm on the topic "How do I get funding as a social entrepreneur? Start-up League Alumni Slooom wants to prevent building vacancies and create sustainable, individually usable spaces. This has now been implemented for the first time in a gymnasium in Spiesen-Elversberg, Saarland, where the first pod hotel, the Gymlodge, will open on February 3.

Our Start-up League Team baind (formerly CENSAI) receives the EXIST-Gründerstipendium from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action! We are happy about this positive news from the Federal Ministry and about the further support and funding they now receive besides the Start-up Certificate, the funding program of HM and SCE.

With the cooperative, part-time doctoral program "Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA)", the SCE provides another doctoral opportunity in addition to the DBI. A turbulent year lies behind us. 2022 has brought us wonderful successes and it has challenged us. Munich overtakes Berlin for the first time in terms of the number of start-ups founded per capita and thus takes the lead nationwide. A study by the Startup Association and Startupdetector found 14.5 startups per 100,000 inhabitants in the Bavarian capital, closely followed by Berlin with 13.6. Hamburg came in third with 7.7.

The BR Bayerischer Rundfunk has produced a report about our Start-up League team ecomates. Every day, a lot of organic waste is produced and simply thrown away. A banana peel, for example, has enough energy to light a lamp for half an hour. ecomates wants to put an end to this waste of energy and developed a biogas plant that can be integrated into the household.

10 months ago, our Start-up League team XTRPY (formerly aephus) received the EXIST-Gründerstipendium from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to focus on exactly this topic. This start-up may be familiar to some from the Strascheg Award 2020, where they won in the category "Best Business Idea from a Course". The idea was born in the Deep Dive Master Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation.

BayStartUP is once again calling on startup teams to participate in the Bavarian Business Plan Competitions. Startups from all over Bavaria can register for one of the four regional Bavarian Business Plan Competitions, in Munich the MBPW, at baystartup.de until January 17, 2023. Participation guarantees attention for founders, helps on the way to market entry and increases the chances of obtaining funding.

70 students of the study programs Management of Social Innovations and Business Administration have analyzed, described and, if necessary, even calculated the social impact of five different partner and practice organizations in 14 interdisciplinary teams with great commitment in the past months. After promising interim presentations, the final event will now take place on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Munich University of Applied Sciences at the Pasing Campus (Am Stadtpark 20, in the "Chapel" in room K127, 1st floor). For those interested who unfortunately cannot be present, a Zoom room has been set up.

M:Univercity invites to the "MeetUp@HM: Resilience. Together. Create!", on 13.02.2023 from 17:00-19:00. The topic of the evening is resilience and how science and research can make a crucial contribution to a resilient society. Through a broad spectrum of knowledge and targeted knowledge exchange, challenges can be addressed and solved in a targeted manner. The aim of the event is the topic-driven networking of partners from business, civil society and the city with HM scientists in order to exchange ideas and jointly develop new ideas and research projects.
