The application phase for SFF START is officially open! START is the first phase of the international SFF Open Incubator - a 10-week intensive program that supports founders in developing their ideas into viable, incubation-ready business models. Until September 21, 2025 (11:59 PM CEST), founders, teams and solopreneurs have the chance to apply for the international program.

The application window for our Academic Program for Entrepreneurship (APE) is open again. APE is a 2-semester additional qualification program in the field of entrepreneurship, design thinking, lean startup, prototyping and business modeling at Munich University of Applied Sciences and SCE and is open to students of all universities and professionals. Three years after its foundation, SCE Alumni Startup Omegga launches its first OmeggaOne system. OmeggaOne is a completely new solution for the poultry industry that makes it possible to determine the sex of laying hen chicks in the egg before the seventh day of incubation non-invasively and without damaging the embryo.

The Bavaria Israel Partnership Accelerator (BIPA) is entering the next round: From October 13 to December 18, 2025, the 14th edition of the program will once again bring together students and young professionals from Bavaria, Israel and, for the first time, the USA to work together on real innovation challenges posed by Bavarian companies and public institutions.

After stops in Heilbronn and Berlin, THE POOL, the successful format for co-founder matching and AI startup building initiated in Munich, is coming back home: The next edition will take place at Google in the 10X Area from September 15 to 19, 2025.

The latest Next Generation Report by the Startup Association and startupdetector shows a sustained upward trend in new startups in Germany in the first half of 2025. With a total of 1,500 new startups nationwide, an increase of 9% was recorded compared to the second half of 2024.

Growth is particularly strong in Bavaria: With 343 new start-ups, the state is once again ahead of Berlin, recording growth of around 23%. This confirms the trend of recent years, in which Bavaria has played a central role in the German startup ecosystem.

Every year at the end of the summer semester, around 120 students from various faculties come together in the SOCIAL X-FACTOR real project to work on a social challenge in a block seminar in interdisciplinary teams. The theme of this semester was Rethinking Education: Rethinking Education Entrepreneurially. In just one week, a total of 24 teams developed innovative ideas and functioning prototypes. The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) would like to congratulate its alumni team HEBIO on winning the pitch competition at the VDI Congress AUTOMATION. The start-up impressed the judges with its innovative solution for automating truck unloading and warehouse logistics: an intelligent swarm of robots that can unload pallets directly from trucks and transport them to a storage location in a coordinated manner. Each robot unit remains flexible and space-saving, but is equipped with a load capacity of up to two tons. HEBIO's smart plug & play technology not only promises more efficient use of existing warehouse systems, but also addresses key challenges in the industry such as the shortage of skilled workers and demographic change.

Munich Startup organized the third Munich Startup Festival in 2025. Here are our impressions:
 

As in previous years, in addition to stages, panels and good food, the focus was primarily on encounters and the feeling of working together on something bigger. The popular speed-matching and the contact wall, which invited people to exchange ideas on an equal footing, were a prime example of this. After a variety of panels on security, care, the media landscape and financing, the Munich Startup Award was presented to UniteLabs as a highlight. Our congratulations!

It was impressive to see how the Munich start-up ecosystem is thriving and SCE is proud to play its part as an enabler and bridge builder. We were also delighted to meet so many SCE alumni and startups we currently support. In addition to another of the five award finalists, Omegga, there were djoon foods, steptics, LYFE.ads, nobank and culah, among others.

A big thank you to everyone who shared their ideas with us and with whom we were able to have exciting conversations! And of course thanks to Munich Startup for the wonderful organization!
 

We go back to work with many impressions and new motivation and are already looking forward to the next festival!

On July 2, 2025, the HOCHSPRUNG Award was presented in Nuremberg to particularly promising start-up projects from Bavarian universities. Munich University of Applied Sciences ( HM ) secured the "Special University Prize" for the highest number of submissions in the competition. Seven of the 38 submissions came from HM offerings, including courses or start-up advice from teaching staff and the start-up coaches at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE).

On July 16, 2025, it's that time again: Backstage Munich will once again become the center of Munich's startup scene! The Munich Startup Festival brings together startups, investors, students, networking enthusiasts and visionaries from all over the city - and we from the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) will of course be there again!

Great news from the HealthTech sector: Two start-ups from the SCE alumni network have been nominated in this year's Health-i All-Star Voting!
