This year, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) awarded 21 prize-winning teams in the "Start-up Competition - Digital Innovations" with more than 300,000 euros in prize money. Dr. Anna Christmann, BMWK Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Start-ups, presented the prizes to the founders. One of the awarded teams is nadar, Batch 7 Alumni of the SCE Accelerator (Start-up Certificate Program Participation) with their early warning system for the detection of forest damage.

The winners of the Novartis Digital Health Prize (DGP) 2023 have been announced. Congratulations to cureVision, Batch 4 Alumni of the SCE Accelerator (Start-up Certificate Program Participation), for a strong second place. cureVision offers fully automated and accurate 3D wound analysis in seconds. Each year, Novartis Germany uses the DGP to promote digital helpers who develop solutions for integrative healthcare for the future of the German healthcare system. The award is endowed with a total of 60,000 euros.

On Friday, May 5, the play Happy Break(down)Through! by and with Michael Ludwig Seyfried, which premiered in Munich in March 2023, will take place. In the play and the subsequent roundtable discussion, the topic of "Mental Health in the start-up world" will be highlighted and discussed. An important topic, we think. More than 100 representatives of 35 universities from all over Germany, the project lead VDI Technologiezentrum and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) met at the HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship on March 14 and 15, 2023 for the first status meeting within the StartUpLab@FH program. The aim of the meeting was to promote the exchange and networking of the funded universities and to strengthen cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship.

Are you toying with the idea of doing a PhD while working? Be cordially invited to our DBI-Day 2023, on March 17, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and learn more. Doctoral candidates interested in the Doctor of Business Innovation (DBI) will receive an overview of the content and process of the cooperative part-time PhD program offered by the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship together with the University of Aveiro (UA) in Portugal at DBI-Day. Developing new business ideas and preparing them according to business management criteria is an important process in building a company. Startups that want to get off to a fast start on the market in particular need dynamic and strategic business planning. Ten startups from the fields of medical technology, renewable energies and B2B software solutions have now been able to convince the jury of their business concepts in the first of three phases in the Munich Business Plan Competition 2023 of the startup network BayStartUP. The winning teams receive professional expert feedback and recognition totaling 5,000 euros. Among them SCE Start-up League team Puray which convinced the jury with its innovative medical technology. For more than 25 years, BayStartUP's Munich Business Plan Competition has been a springboard for start-ups on their way to becoming growth companies.

Every year, the business magazine Forbes publishes lists of the currently most important entrepreneurs from all over Europe. A total of ten industries are highlighted, and 30 young people are selected from each. One of them, in the list "Manufacturing & Industry", is Tobias Kahnert, Co-Founder and CEO of Start-up League Alumni Electric Flytrain.

With the innovation competition, the city of Munich is calling for innovative solution proposals for concrete urban challenges. The aim is to develop new smart city approaches in a co-creation process, which are then to prove themselves in the urban test field. The innovation competition has been held annually since 2018 and is aimed at interested parties from the start-up community, students, founders and all creative minds who want to develop and implement viable, innovative solutions for the specified challenges. This year, the City of Munich is looking for innovative solutions to five exciting challenges. You can apply for one or more challenges. The application deadline for the Innovation Contest 2023 is 15.5.2023 at 23:59.

"RESONANCE - Platform for Cultural and Creative Industries in Europe" is a program initiated by the network of Goethe-Instituts in France to promote European cultural and creative industries. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty, it will bring together a new generation of young creatives from Germany and France in tandems starting in 2023 with funding from the Franco-German Youth Office and numerous partners, thus promoting innovative Franco-German collaborations at the interface of culture, business and technology. The cross-border initiative creates a platform that opens up new resonance spaces between Germany and France and strengthens forward-looking forms of European cooperation. It is well known that responsible entrepreneurship is a top priority at HM and SCE.
