From 19 to 26.07.2023 the Real Project "Social X Factor" took place. The block seminar is an absolute highlight for us every year. This year, 20 teams pursue one goal together for one week: They develop ideas in an interdisciplinary team, 2023 on the topic of "Sustainable Urban Development". The final event took place on July 26 in the pavilion of the Design Faculty.

The Munich Innovation Award 2023 goes to the AI-Start-up Puppet, which is currently supported by the Accelerator Program at SCE. Second Mayor Katrin Habenschaden presented the award to the winning teams on July 19, 2023. They will also get the chance to further develop and test their solution approaches in an upcoming co-creation phase together with the city administration in real urban contexts. In addition to prize money of 10,000 euros, a budget of up to 15,000 euros is available for the implementation phase.

The second season of createF goes live! For almost half a year now, our Start-up League team Checkademia can already look forward to the EXIST-Gründerstipendium from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection. Prior to the EXIST funding, they were funded by HM and SCE as part of the SCE Accelerator Program in Batch 7.

The SCE Alumni Start-up steptics has received funding from the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (DBU) through the "Green Start-up" funding programme. The programme supports young founders who develop innovative and economically viable solutions for the environment, ecology and sustainability. Steptics receives the full funding amount of 125,000 euros.

The SCE congratulates its start-up Alumni cureVision for being awarded first place in the category "AI and Rocotics"! This Friday, the start-up presented its system for a digital wound analysis at the Fesitval of the Future and convinced the jury.

In its Series-B funding round, SCE alumni start-up ChargeX secured a total of €11.5 million in funding from various investors. With its Aqueduct charging system, the e-mobility start-up offers intelligent multi-socket charging stations for charging e-cars and reduces costs and labor during installation with an innovative installation system.

The Start for Future (SFF) alliance has emerged as one of Europe's most dynamic and fastest-growing innovation alliances comprising academia, startups, industry, and public organizations. Older people often find it difficult to use smartphones and tablets. That's why SCE alumni start-up enna developed a user-friendly docking station for tablets that makes it easy for seniors to navigate the digital world and stay in touch with their loved ones, thanks to large buttons and a card reading system. Now, o2 Telefónica has also recognized this potential and entered into a partnership with enna.

On May 12, Andreas Beckenbach won the German Toastmasters Speech Competition on stage in Aarhus (Denmark) and thus won the German Toastmasters Championship. Andreas was successful as the best speaker at all German Toastmasters competitions in February, with his prepared speech "You are the director" also at the Area competition (Munich), the Division competition (Bavaria+Badenwürtemberg). Most recently, he was also victorious at the District Competition (Germany, Sweden and Denmark). AI+MUNICH supports start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) to promote innovation density based on this future-oriented technology in southern Germany. In the second phase of the Munich Business Plan Competition, SCE Start-up League Team Puray won third place with its medical catheter, which is continuously disinfected during use with the help of UVC light. Their product eliminates viruses and bacteria while being harmless to humans. For the first time, patients are safely and reliably protected from dangerous catheter-associated hospital infections. In addition to detailed expert feedback on all submissions in phase 2, the winners will receive additional prizes totaling 9,000 euros. More info on Puray here.
