Organic and Fair in the Munich Mountain Bus - Successful Prototype Ride of the APE Innovation-Team

On Sunday, July 24, the Munich mountain bus of the German Alpine Club offered its passengers a special catering service on the Chiemgau route. The offer ranged from sandwiches and nut buns to butter pretzels and cool drinks such as lemonades and beer from Lammsbräu - and organic and fair at the same time.

The sale was run by an innovation team as part of the Academic Program for Entrepreneurship (APE) and was made possible by corporate partners Naturland Fair and DAV Munich & Oberland. The goal of the innovation team was to advance Fair Trade & Fair Mobility in the Alpine foothills together with the corporate partners. The prototype ride served to validate test assumptions within the APE innovation process.

In order to guarantee the cooling of food and beverages even during the standstill of the mountain bus, the manager of the Tourist Info Aschau im Chiemgau, Herbert Reiter, provided an electricity connection with cooling facilities.

The offer of biological-fair food has found good acceptance with the mountain-enthusiastic Munich passengers, who would be pleased about this offer in the mountain bus also in the future. The mountain bus is also popular in the regions south of Munich. In addition to relieving traffic congestion, regional providers can also be supported.

PS: You want to be a participant in the next semester? Then apply for the MUCBOOK APE scholarship and increase your chances of participation.
