HM and SCE win at the Stifterverband funding program "Entrepreneurial Skills"

Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences (HM) with its Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) has also been successful in the competitive second stage of the "Entrepreneurial Skills" program of the Stifterverband. Out of a total of 69 submissions from German colleges and universities, HM and SCE were able to prevail with their concept "Entrepreneurship & Innovation Introduction Days" as one of four successful submissions.

Interview mit Start-up Zertifikat Alumni "santic"

Michael Fried, Silvan Armbruster and Ansgar Dirscherl were part of Batch #5 of the Start-up Certificate Program in 2021 with their start-up santic, a digital trade fair platform. The idea for the start-up was developed by the three students of the Munich University of Applied Sciences in a study project, and was then further developed and marketed with the help of the Start-up Certificate Program. AI start-ups for society - Munich model project AI+Munich receives 5.9 million in funding for the expansion of artificial intelligence

The Munich model project AI+Munich receives 5.9 million euros as part of the EXIST "Start-ups from Science" funding program of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWi) to promote start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence. The Munich Center for Digital Sciences and Artificial Intelligence (MUC.DAI) and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) of the HM - Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, the TUM Venture Labs "Robotics/AI", "Software/AI" and UnternehmerTUM as well as MUC Summit GmbH, which is in the project lead, have developed a joint AI start-up process as partners, which is intended to establish Munich as an AI start-up lighthouse. In the future, they will promote the AI ecosystem in the region, which is embedded in the diverse entrepreneurship activities at the innovation location Munich.

Naotilus receives EXIST founder grant

Great news at Start-up Team NAOTILUS, which is currently participating in Batch #6 of our Start-up Certificate Program. The Start-up League team was able to secure the funding decision from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and is funded by an EXIST-Gründerstipendium starting in February 2022. The SCE is happy for the founders, their mentor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Simon Schramm from the Faculty 04, their coach Jana Hollmann and all other supporters of the SCE.

Bavaria Israel Partnership Accelerator (BIPA) closes 10th edition

On December 14th we celebrated the closing of the 10th edition of our Bavaria Israel Partnership Accelerator (BIPA). Over 40 students from Bavaria, Israel and for the first time ever - the United Arab Emirates, did an outstanding job working on challenges coming from 9 Bavarian company partners, and worked on solutions that will go long into the future, all with the help of their experienced mentors.

Interview with Start-up Certificate Alumni "Re-Tire

Matthias Babsek, Robin Hamann and Dennis Elflein are part of Batch #5 of the Start-up Certificate since 2021 with their start-up "Re-Tire". The product idea of Re-Tire is a marketplace for verified used tires. Matthias (BA & MA) and Dennis (MA) both studied at the University of Applied Sciences Munich. They were aware of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship early on through Dennis, who has won the Strascheg Award before, and Matthias, who was in the SCE's startup advisory service. Through a precelerator event, Matthias and Dennis eventually started discussions for their joint startup. With Robin, with whom Matthias comes from the same place and knew from work, the team was completed. They then developed their idea further with the help of the SCE and the HM in the Start-up Certificate. Do you also have a great idea and are still looking for a start-up home? WechselGott receives 5.6 million euros in financing round

The start-up Team WechselGott receives around 5.6 million euros in a financing round, bringing its total valuation to 28 million. The investors include the broker pool Fonds Finanz and Volksbank Mittelhessen. The insurtech wants to use the investment to develop new products and expand its range.

Strascheg Award 2021: The winners are...

The 2021 Strascheg Award ceremony took place on Nov. 17 as part of the HM E'ship Summit. Here you can watch the award ceremony in a video stream during the HM E'ship Summit. The Strascheg Award nominee teams pitched their ideas and the 9 winning teams from the 3 categories were selected and celebrated. They can look forward to a total prize money of 30.000€! The Strascheg Award is the ideas competition of the Munich University of Applied Sciences. For each category, the first to third place idea will receive 5.000€, 3.000€ and 2.000€.

Real Projects started - The topics in winter semester 21/22

How can digitization be made sustainable? How can livable urban neighborhoods be created? How can the mobility revolution be driven forward? How can international cultural mediators like the Goethe-Institut in Beijing or the USA become climate-positive? And what innovative solutions could radically change the healthcare sector? This semester, nearly 350 students from 9 faculties at Munich University of Applied Sciences are once again immersing themselves in current topics of the future and developing viable innovative ideas on these topics within one semester in our "Real Project" seminars. The students thus compete to make the world a bit more sustainable, innovative and entrepreneurial - and thus learn in a very practical way what Responsible Entrepreneurship can mean.

fIVE Female Entrepreneurship Podcast: in conversation with Anna-Katharina Pelzel and Jana Hollmann

In our first German podcast episode, we welcome Anna-Katharina Pelzel, co-founder of new work campus, together with her SCE start-up consultant Jana Hollmann in the podcast studio. Anna gives us insights into her start-up process and tells us how she made the step from being an employee to being self-employed and how the start-up consultancy helped with the further development of her product idea "trabayolo". Jana and Anna discuss what security means, the challenges of starting a business, and how you can also be economically successful with socially-oriented product ideas. In keeping with our motto fIVE, Anna gives us five tips for students with start-up plans. Be excited!
