The SCE alumni start-up gutfeel, which we were able to actively support through our Deep Dive Master, the SCE Incubation and the EXIST programme, is entering its next growth phase: the young Munich-based company has brought a strong strategic partner on board in INNOFACT AG, one of Germany's leading market research institutes. As part of its entrepreneurship teaching, HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences is introducing a new teaching format, the Advanced Real Project, which specifically closes the gap between classic start-up teaching and practical start-up support. Prof. Dr. Dünnebeil (Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics), Prof. Dr. Maisch (Faculty of Applied Natural Sciences and Mechatronics) and Prof. Dr. Wach (HM Business School) are responsible for the concept and implementation.

The course is aimed at advanced students with an interest in founding a company who have already gained initial experience in the field of entrepreneurship - e.g. through previous courses. The Advanced Real Project is thus designed as an in-depth and advanced course within HM's structured entrepreneurship offering, which ranges from early awareness-raising to incubation at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE).

On May 8, 2025, the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) invited Bonita Grupp, Managing Partner at Trigema, as part of the lecture series Experiencing Entrepreneurs Live. In the full SCE Creative Hall, she talked about processes, the use of AI and the topic of responsibility at Trigema. Afterwards, the curious audience asked Bonita a wide variety of questions.

On July 16, 2025, it's that time again: The Munich Startup Festival brings the Munich innovation scene together at Backstage - with exciting speakers, live acts, networking and a highlight on the main stage: the Munich Startup Award. This year, too, the best Munich startup will be sought. Applications are now open - with the chance to win €10,000 in prize money and lots of visibility.

The first Bavarian Succession Day, organized by the Bavarian Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, shed light on a key topic for SMEs: company succession. The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) was represented by its CEO Prof. Dr. Klaus Sailer.

40,300 tons of hops will be produced in the Hallertau growing region in 2024 - that's 87 percent of Germany's total yield! Fittingly, the HOPSathon will now take place there on June 24, 2025: A hackathon organized by the TUM Venture Labs, which brings together start-ups, companies and experts. Of course, the Dynamic Innovation Campus (DICA), our accelerator program and innovation ecosystem for the beverage industry, will also be represented.

The SCE is pleased to congratulate its alumni team BRAKEABLE on its successful inclusion in the Bavarian funding program "Start?Zuschuss!". The company is one of the ten young start-ups selected by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs in the current round of the competition. The funding now provides the team with up to 36,000 euros to accelerate this development in a targeted manner - particularly with regard to market launch, research and staff development.

The time has finally come: the new batch of the SCE's EXIST-Women program has officially begun! As part of the program funded by the BMWK (Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection), women interested in founding a company will once again receive valuable support in this round to develop their entrepreneurial personality and drive their business ideas forward.

The young start-up MuseDuo (formerly “around and square”) is celebrating its web debut. Their idea: innovative experience gifts with drinks, music, painting utensils and everything you need for a creative, unforgettable evening.

How good is the Munich metropolitan region when it comes to start-ups and entrepreneurship - and what can we do even better?
