DCUBED funded with 9.5 million euros from the EIC Accelerator 2024

SCE alumnus and spacetech startup Dcubed has been selected by the European Commission for the EIC Accelerator and will receive 9.5 million euros in funding. Out of 969 applications, the European Commission selected 68 startups, giving them access to grants and equity investments totaling 411 million euros. We congratulate the team on this phenomenal success!

Bavaria Israel Partnership Accelerator (BIPA) closes 12th edition

On June 18th, we celebrated the conclusion of the 12th edition of our Bavaria Israel Partnership Accelerator (BIPA). Students from Bavaria and Israel, with the help of their experienced mentors, worked on challenges posed by five Bavarian corporate and public partners, and developed solutions that will have a lasting impact. With the support of experienced German and Israeli mentors, the participants developed solutions that only international and interdisciplinary teams could come up with.

Every year at the end of the summer semester, around 120 students from various faculties come together in the SOCIAL X-FACTOR real project to work on a social challenge in a block seminar in interdisciplinary teams. This semester's topic was DEMOCRACY IN A TECHNOLOGIZED SOCIETY. Innovative ideas and functioning prototypes were developed in just one week. We present the winners of the Social X-Factor 2024.

Greater than the Sum of Its Parts: Combining Entrepreneurial and Sustainable Competencies in Entrepreneurship Education

Discussions about sustainability and entrepreneurship are often an “either/or” discourse. Many higher-education institutions offer sustainability educaange. Similarly, many offerings in entrepreneurship fail to address sustainability issues. SCE research just published an article in sustainability, that assumes a qualitative, constructivist, systems thinking approach to theorize and analyze the relationships between entrepreneurtion programs with the aim of enabling students to think and act sustainably without concrete tools for eship and sustainability competencies and makes three contributions to theory and practice.

Start for Future (SFF) has just unveiled an impactful new publication titled "Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Deep Tech: A Good Practice Guide." Edited by notable experts Colette Henry, Sabrina Tomasi, Slavica Singer, Alessio Cavicchi, Margot Bucaille, Erik Maass Løvgren, and Simone Stilling, this guide is set to revolutionize the deep tech sector. The guide, a collaborative effort supported by EIT Urban Mobility, EIT HEI Initiative, and over 25 global partners, offers valuable insights and strategies for fostering inclusivity and sustainability. Presentation of the Innovation Award of the City of Munich

With the innovation competition, the City of Munich calls for the submission of innovative solution proposals for specific urban challenges every year.
