Great success for the Munich-based energy and SCE Alumni startup Pionierkraft, which was honored with the German Innovation Award 2026 in the "Energy Solutions" category. The award went to PIONIERKRAFTwerk 3.0, a solution for the intelligent distribution of locally generated solar energy in apartment buildings. The award, presented by the German Design Council, recognizes innovations that combine technological progress with social relevance and practical benefits. The award ceremony took place on May 12, 2026 in Berlin.

How is artificial intelligence changing the future of recruiting? This was the question addressed at the latest SCE Friends & Fellows community event at the SCE Incubator in Munich. Together with members of our community, start-ups and partners, we discussed current developments in the field of AI-supported recruiting solutions, new perspectives for companies and the importance of a strong innovation ecosystem.

On July 22, 2026, it's that time again: Backstage Munich will once again be the meeting place for Munich's start-up scene. The Munich Startup Festival brings together founders, investors, talents and networking enthusiasts from all over the city - and we from the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) will of course be there again this year.

Steffen Marx, founder of Giesinger Bräu, showed at Unternehmer:innen Live on May 7, 2026 how a bold idea and a great deal of perseverance gave rise to one of Munich's best-known success stories. Over the years, the city's second-largest private brewery has developed from a small garage, with a clear attitude, a strong community and millions in sales.

The Munich-based start-up Omegga has successfully completed its seed financing round of 10 million euros. This provides the company with fresh capital to further develop its technology and scale it internationally.

The EXIST Women program has started a new round! Once again this year, women interested in founding a company will receive valuable support to further develop their entrepreneurial skills and drive their start-up ideas forward. As part of the program funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) provide intensive support to participants on their path to founding a company. In addition to individual support, the founders benefit from a strong network of experts, mentors and experienced start-up coaches.

23 April 2026 was the annual Girls'Day - Girls' Future Day at the Hochschule München and of course we from the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship were there again. Our aim was to take the girls into the world of entrepreneurship for a morning and show them how initial ideas and possible solutions emerge from problems.

Our Managing Director Klaus Sailer was a guest on the "Pitch & People" podcast in the Munich Startup Studio. In the latest episode, the head of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship talks about uncertainty as a driver of innovation, premature assessments in the startup ecosystem and why Europe should find its own entrepreneurial path.

What if a Master's degree was more than just a degree? The DeepDive Master's "Entrepreneurship & Digital Transformation" from Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship combines academic excellence with consistent venture building - and offers students the opportunity to not only learn about innovation, but to actively implement it.

Shaping transformation instead of just accompanying it: The new part-time Master's degree in Systems Entrepreneurship & Transformation (M.Sc.) is an innovative course for professionals who want to actively drive change in organizations, the economy and society. The application phase for the next intake starts on May 2, 2026.

On May 5, the SCE is hosting a practical workshop on modern, AI-supported data analysis. Under the title "Unlock Business Insights with Zoho Analytics", start-ups and students will have the opportunity to expand their data skills and make business intelligence usable in their own day-to-day work. The European innovation network SYSTEMEU is taking the next step: on April 28, 2026, the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) and its partners are hosting a workshop and ecosystem meeting in Munich. The focus will be on the upcoming SYSTEMEU project call, which provides funding of up to 2.2 million euros per project. The aim of the event is to bring together stakeholders from start-ups, SMEs, universities and research institutions at an early stage and jointly initiate viable European innovation projects.

A warm welcome to the 34 inter/national startups in our Batch #15 of SCE Incubation! We look forward to supporting these innovative and exciting start-up projects over the next 6 months and to accompanying the founders on their individual start-up journey!

To mark the 20th anniversary of "hochschule dual", HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences is hosting the DualForum. The event brings together practice partners, companies and organizations to provide insights into the dual study program and to strengthen the exchange between university and business. The DualForum will take place on June 25, 2026 from 1:30 p.m. at Hochschule München.
