The EXIST-Women funding program, which is specifically aimed at supporting female founders in an academic environment, is entering its second round. Universities and research institutions can now apply for the funding guideline until December 6, 2024. The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship is also planning to apply again in order to be able to support women interested in starting a business in 2025.

The popular Applied Science Slam at Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences is celebrating a special anniversary: for the tenth time, the stage will be opened for exciting, entertaining scientific contributions. With presentations, live experiments and plenty of humor, the speakers compete for the applause of the audience, who will choose a winner at the end.

The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) is thrilled to report on the successful start of the Alumni Stammtisch. On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, numerous former teams of our start-up consultancy gathered in the Löwenbräu Keller for an evening full of exciting conversations and vivid memories. The alumni enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, shared their experiences and made new connections within the start-up scene.

"Unternehmer:innen live erleben" is back! On October 24, 2024, the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) invites founder, investor and author Tijen Onaran as part of the "Unternehmer live erleben" event. In the packed Falk F. Strascheg Lecture Hall at Munich University of Applied Sciences, Onaran will talk about her path to self-employment and the challenges she has overcome as an entrepreneur. She talks about bumpy beginnings, perseverance and why this is particularly important for founders, about courage and confidence in oneself and one's own abilities and why all of this is completely independent of origin or gender. The evening will be hosted by Sonja Wilhelm and Michael Hack.

SmartAIs, an alumni of the SCE Incubation Program, is one of the five winners of the German Mobility Award 2024. The prize from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) honors innovative projects that aim to rethink and shape the future of mobility. The prize was awarded by Federal Minister Volker Wissing at the Federal Government's Digital Summit in Frankfurt am Main. He reports:

Munich, October 22, 2024 - The Bavaria Israel Partnership Accelerator (BIPA) is celebrating the successful continuation of the program to promote innovative, intercultural cooperation between Bavaria and Israel. The kick-off workshop of the 13th edition will take place in Munich from October 14 to 18 and will once again bring together students and young professionals from both regions. Organized by the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) at HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences (HM), the participants will work on innovative solutions for challenges faced by companies, start-ups and public institutions. This year's edition is dedicated to the topic of "Innovation in Challenging Times".

The MedTech start-up and SCE alumni team from Puray is a double-winner. They secured both the award for innovation in medical technology and the award for patent security, both awarded by the German Society for Biomedical Engineering (DGMBT) and the Klee Family Foundation.

The startups cureVision and SUMM AI were awarded the Bavarian Innovation Prize 2024! The prize was presented by Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria.

IoT startup enna makes it into both the print and digital editions of the Süddeutsche Zeitung with a full-page article. The team has developed a card reader that makes it easier for senior citizens and people with limited digital skills to use the internet.

The application phase for the ideas competition organized by Munich University of Applied Sciences and the SCE is now open!

Exciting ideas are once again being sought for the Strascheg Award, which is endowed with prize money totaling 30,000 euros. All students, professors, employees and alumni of HM can apply online with their business ideas in three different categories until October 20, 2024.

In our big ClashOfTrash robot contest in the Precelerator, you have two weeks to build your own little robot - whether in a group or on your own, it doesn't matter. Starting on November 4th, you will be accompanied by our TechExperts, who will provide you with the building kit and will be happy to help you perfect your robot in between. On November 14, the bots will then compete against each other in our ClashOfTrash Arena. Prizes will be awarded for the best design and, of course, the most robust robot.

Every year, Stadtparkassen München awards its Founder Prize to teams of outstanding founders. Among the five finalists of the public voting 2024 are Puray and djoon, two alumni of the SCE Incubation Program.

SCE Alumni Startup Omegga is honored with the "Innovation Award EuroTier 2024" in silver for its product "Omegga One". Omegga One is a completely new solution for the poultry industry that makes it possible to determine the sex of laying hen chicks in the egg before the seventh day of incubation non-invasively and without damaging the embryo.
